WEDI is committed to full compliance with existing antitrust laws. The primary purpose of this organization is to provide information and educational support that will enable the healthcare industry to increase the use of electronic commerce procedures and communications between providers, payers and other vendors, thereby reducing the cost and increasing the efficiency of healthcare delivery to the public. WEDI, its Board of Directors and its advisory groups will comply with all applicable antitrust laws during the course of their activities.
Any discussions or agreement as to price is a violation of the Sherman Act. Accordingly, WEDI meetings will not encourage or permit any discussion of prices of products, supplies or services. Similarly, there must be no discussion of any elements of company or organization operations that might influence pricing, e.g. allowances, discounts, terms of sale, margins, operations costs or marketing strategies.
