The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) will be hosting an e-Billing briefing by Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) staff and Texas Strategic eBill Information Network (SeBin) (http://sebin.pbwiki.com/) members.

 

If you are not a member of ICT's Workers' Compensation Committee and have received this e-mail, you are invited to participate in the meeting.

 

Federal and state Anti-trust Laws will apply during the meeting.

 

Meeting Time, Date, Location, and Topics to Be Discussed

 

ICT's Workers' Compensation Committee will meet at 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time (CST) on Thursday, July 31, 2008.  The meeting/teleconference is expected to last until 12:00 p.m. CST.

 

The meeting will be held at ICT’s offices (http://www.insurancecouncil.org/map.asp) which are located at 2801 South IH-35 in Austin, Texas.

 

The members of the Workers' Compensation Committee are meeting to:

  Receive an update on the DWC's e-Billing initiatives and status of e-Billing in Texas.

 Receive a briefing from Texas SeBin members on the efforts and progress made by this voluntary participation group.

(2)

 Learn about the DWC’s policy that will limit the number of e-Billing waivers and waiver extensions.

(3)

You may participate in the meeting in person at or via a teleconference line provided for by ICT.

Feel free to have your company’s e-Billing vendor participate in this meeting.

I will be providing you with a link to the DWC’s and SeBin’s PowerPoint presentations in a separate e-mail tomorrow.  The PowerPoint presentations will be used by the various briefers during the teleconference and meeting.

ICT will be inviting non-committee insurance company ICT members and associate members to participate in the teleconference portion of the briefing.  A workers’ compensation bulletin will be sent out by ICT later this afternoon announcing the teleconference and will include the teleconference number and link to the DWC and SeBin PowerPoint presentations.

Legislative staff who work for members of the Texas House of Representatives’ Business & Industry Committee and Texas State Affairs Committee will also be invited to participate in the briefing.
